One thing I noticed is that the neck pickup is not directly under the '24th fret' area unlike other guitar (ex. I'll play with the height of the pole pieces and will get back to you all later. The bridge was better than the neck pickup though. I'm guessing I have to adjust the pole pieces because they do seem pretty flat and low. The guitar had an uneven string response. I don't have an amp in hand at the moment so I can't say with new strings. They don't sound that great but I must say that I played plugged in with the old strings which were pretty dead. The thing I'm not so trilled about at the moment is the pickups. I installed 10s because that was all I had in hand but I'm thinking of getting some 11s flatwounds.

The guitar is so resonant that I'm playing it unplugged most of the time. I bet that's everyone's worry about having such a small body. I love thinlines but was worried I couldn't get a good 'hollow' sound out of them. I've always wanted a hollowbody but they were just too expensive (well, the ones I wanted) or felt too cheap (the Ibanez in my local GC). I was worried about having a thinline hollowbody. The factory ones were horrible and going out of tune every minute. I did however polished them with some 0000 steel wool and oiled the fretboard. I felt it when playing chords or single notes and I didn't even get to bending yet. They seem leveled but they're really rough. It could just be me though as I play classical guitar and a tele with a 1' thick neck. It's actually quite comfortable although I feel it's a flat back profile. It is not actually skinny as other Epiphones where I would be scared of looking at hard enough because they might break. I finally got a chance to mess with it.įirst thing is the neck, which was my main worry. I've had this guitar since Friday but haven't played it much since I've been busy with work.
